YOUNG people FoR ChRiSt...............

How much does your relationship with Jesus mean to you?

From the 27th to the 29th of March 2009 saw a group of twenty people herding to Lunka Lodge for a weekend out as young adults desiring to grow more in their faith, as went through sessions under a theme titled “foundations of our faith”

It was quite a humble event, which took place under bright and fine weather skies. Among other events were sports, discussions, time of prayer, interaction and devotion. This gave the guys a time of reflection to see God in a whole different light altogether, which I strongly believe that as young adults in an ever busy and ever changing world constantly need!

But of interest and striking to me during this camp out was the leap of faith which all the twenty guys took by going out for this camp. Most if not all of the guys had exams and assignments which were due the following week and were practically under a lot of pressure, but they decided to take their time out to focus on their relationship with GOD, how about that for trusting God!!!!

I don’t take it as coincidence that the theme, for this camp conceded with the practical call to faith which most of the guys had actually done! Faith is commented as “the substance of things not seen and things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1) it is choosing to trust where facts and logic doesn’t approve

What I therefore want to point out in this humble article is that, when we choose to trust God, it is in such times we practically show what it really means to believe and have faith in God. My desire is for you to be challenged to really ponder on what your philosophy of faith in God really is? I mean its fine to collectively believe God for something, but a true pinch of faith comes when you are faced with a personal reality which challenges you to believe in Jesus even when reality calls and assumes otherwise!

In conclusion allow me to strike you with a scripture to challenge you to grow your faith on a personal basis as you aim to live it out as a form of inspiration to others. The woman took a leap of faith to touch the herm of the garment of Jesus, despite her past experiences of 12 bold years! Can you find yourself doing the same thing today? I will leave you to ponder on that thought!
